Here we are—2026.
A brand-new year brings that familiar feeling of hope mixed with determination. Gym memberships spike. Grocery carts look cleaner. Vision boards get dusted off.
So let me ask you:
- Are you going to stick with working out this year?Eating better?Being a better person?
Those are good goals. Necessary ones, even. I can help with fitness. I can help with discipline. I can help you build habits that strengthen your body.
But there’s something far more important than changing your routine.
Becoming a Better Person
Everyone wants to be better—more patient, more loving, more disciplined, more forgiving. But here’s the truth most people discover by February:
Behavior change without heart change doesn’t last.
There is an easy answer to becoming a better person. And it’s also the one many people find hardest to stick with.
My Answer? Follow Jesus.
Not casually. Not occasionally. Not just on Sundays.
Really get to know Him.And pattern how you live your life after how He lived His.
Jesus didn’t just teach morals—He modeled a way of life.
✝️ “Whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.”— 1 John 2:6
That’s not about perfection. That’s about direction.
What Following Jesus Actually Looks Like
When you’re angryJesus chose restraint and forgiveness.
✝️ “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” — Luke 23:34
When you’re temptedJesus responded with truth, not impulse.
✝️ “It is written…” — Matthew 4
When you’re tiredJesus withdrew to pray instead of burning out.
✝️ “He went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed.” — Mark 1:35
When people failed HimJesus loved anyway.
✝️ “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you.” — John 13:34
That’s a higher standard than any New Year’s resolution—and yet it’s the only one that actually reshapes your heart.
Why People Struggle to Stick With This
Because following Jesus requires daily surrender, not annual motivation.
✝️ “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”— Luke 9:23
Daily.Not January-only.Not when it’s convenient.
And yes—it’s hard.
But here’s the grace-filled truth:
✝️ “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
You don’t follow Jesus by willpower. You follow Him by dependence.
A Better Question for 2026
Instead of asking, “What am I going to change?”Try asking:
“Who am I becoming?”
And then ask the most important question of all:
“Does my life look more like Jesus today than it did last year?”
✝️ “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33
My Prayer for You This Year
That in 2026, you don’t just chase goals. You chase Christ.
That you don’t just improve habits. You allow God to transform your heart.
Because when you truly follow Jesus, everything else—discipline, health, purpose, peace—falls into place.
Let’s make this the year that doesn’t fade by February.
Let’s make it the year we walk like He walked.
